Course Overview

This course is an introductory course that seeks to promote an understanding of the interactions and interdependence that exist between people, place and the natural environment. Globally, natural environmental systems are essential for the survival of the human race. Therefore, socio-economic development interventions are expected to be implemented    without causing irreversible destruction to the natural environment.   It is therefore expected that students would appreciate the complex interrelationships that exist  between the natural environment and societies for the  sustainable utilization of resources.  By studying this course, students would be equipped with the skills necessary to evaluate the interdependence existing between human societies and the natural environment.
